§ 01

Effective date

This privacy policy is effective as of July 1, 2026, and applies to all versions of the Amplo iOS application. Amplo may update this policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices, applicable laws, or regulatory requirements. Significant modifications will be communicated to users through the app with prior notice. Your continued use of Amplo after any updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

§ 02

Who we are

Amplo is a precision measurement tool developed by Amplo Inc., a software team focused on building transparent, privacy-respecting applications for developers and technical professionals. We specialize in network diagnostics and latency visualization. Our commitment is to provide useful functionality without sacrificing user privacy or demanding unnecessary personal information. We operate independently and assume full responsibility for how data is handled within Amplo. Privacy is not an afterthought—it is core to our product philosophy and engineering decisions.

§ 03

Data we collect

Amplo collects only what it measures, and it keeps everything on your device. In the Monitor tab, Amplo records Beat data — timestamps and round-trip times — to draw your live EKG waveform. Your Endpoint configurations (label, host, port, kind) are saved locally. Statistics Sessions holding your p50, p95, and p99 values, jitter, and packet loss stay on-device, as do your Reflex Lab ReflexScores — your reaction-time measurements. Amplo has no user accounts, no subscriptions, and no analytics. None of this information is sent to Amplo or to any external service. The only network activity Amplo performs is the TCP handshake latency probe you explicitly request — a single connection to the host and port you type, used solely to time the round trip. Amplo never accesses your location, contacts, calendar, photos, or any other private data.

§ 04

How we use it

Your data is used exclusively to power Amplo's features, entirely on your device. Beat measurements draw the live phosphor-green EKG waveform that is the heart of Amplo, letting you watch latency in real time. Endpoint data drives the Library tab so you can measure the same servers repeatedly. Session statistics power the Statistics tab and the Compare feature's significance test. ReflexScore data fuels the Reflex Lab, helping you tell network latency apart from your own reaction time. Amplo does not use your data to build advertising profiles, to train machine-learning models, or to generate usage analytics. There is no server-side processing of any kind: every calculation happens locally on your device, and no data leaves it.

§ 05

Data handling commitment

We do not sell, use, or disclose user data to third parties for any purpose. Your information exists solely to operate Amplo on your device and provide the features you request. We maintain strict internal controls to prevent unauthorized access to systems that might contain user data. Amplo does not require account creation, login, or authentication. We do not pair your measurements with your identity, device identifier, or any persistent user profile. When you uninstall Amplo, all your data remains on your device until you delete it manually. We never retain, access, or recover data from uninstalled apps. Your data is entirely in your control.

§ 06

Third-party processors

Amplo uses no third-party processors. The app embeds no analytics, advertising, attribution, or crash-reporting SDKs, and it integrates no cloud, sync, or artificial-intelligence services. Every Endpoint, Beat, Session, and ReflexScore is created and stored entirely on your device using Apple's on-device storage; nothing is handed to any outside company to process on our behalf. Because no data ever leaves your device, there are no processors, sub-processors, or data-sharing arrangements to enumerate. The only network activity Amplo performs is the latency probe you request — a single TCP handshake to the host and port you choose — and even that is used purely to time the round trip, never to collect or transmit information about you. Should this ever change, we will name every processor here, in this policy, before enabling it.

§ 07

Retention schedule

Because all data stays on your device, you control retention completely. Beat and Session measurements are kept on your device until you delete them or clear your Library. Endpoint configurations persist until you remove them. ReflexScore reaction-time measurements are kept on your device for one year and are then purged automatically. Amplo keeps no copy of any of this on a server, because Amplo runs no server that stores user measurements and offers no cloud or iCloud backup. Deleting an item in the app removes it immediately and permanently from your device. Uninstalling Amplo removes the app and its on-device data following iOS's normal behavior. We never retain, access, or recover data from an uninstalled app, and there is no remote archive from which anything could be restored.

§ 08

International data transfers

Amplo performs no international data transfers, because it performs no data transfers at all. Your measurements and Endpoint configurations are processed and stored on your device, in whatever country you and your device happen to be. Amplo does not route your data to servers in other jurisdictions, does not use overseas cloud infrastructure, and relies on no processor that would move your information across borders. The latency probes you request connect only to the hosts you choose; they transmit no personal data and are mirrored to no Amplo system. As a result, the cross-border safeguards other services must describe — standard contractual clauses, adequacy decisions, and similar mechanisms — do not apply here, because there is no transfer and no foreign storage of your data to disclose.

§ 09

Your GDPR rights

For users subject to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in the European Union and European Economic Area, Amplo honors your fundamental data-protection rights. You have the right to access all personal data we process; because Amplo stores everything on your device, you can view your Endpoints, Sessions, Beats, and ReflexScores directly in the app at any time. You have the right to rectification — you can edit an Endpoint's details or remove inaccurate measurements yourself. You have the right to erasure; deleting an Endpoint, Session, or score removes the related data immediately. You have the right to data portability; because your data lives in a standard on-device store and never on our servers, you may request a portable copy at any time by emailing [email protected]. You also have the right to object to, and to restrict, processing — since processing happens only on your device and only for the features you invoke, you exercise this simply by not running a measurement or by limiting Amplo's permissions in iOS Settings.

§ 10

California privacy rights

Users in California are granted specific rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). You have the right to know what personal information Amplo collects; we collect only measurement Beats, Endpoint configurations, Session statistics, and ReflexScores. You have the right to delete your personal data; you can remove any Endpoint, measurement, or score directly in the app, or contact us to verify deletion. You have the right to correct inaccurate data; Amplo allows you to edit Endpoint details and all associated measurements. You have the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information; Amplo does not sell or share user data with advertisers or data brokers under any circumstances. You have the right to non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights; we will not deny service, charge different prices, or reduce quality based on your privacy choices. For California privacy requests, email [email protected].

§ 11

Security and breach notification

Amplo protects your data primarily by keeping it on your device and never transmitting it. Your measurements are stored using iOS's built-in, device-level encryption and are protected by your device passcode and Apple's platform security. Because Amplo operates no central server and uses no third-party processor, there is no cloud database of user measurements that could be breached and no analytics or crash-reporting pipeline through which data could leak — which removes the most common sources of large-scale exposure. In the unlikely event that we discover a security issue affecting the app or its users, we commit to investigating immediately and, where any user data is genuinely at risk, to notifying affected users within 72 hours of discovery through an in-app notice. We follow responsible-disclosure practices and welcome security reports at [email protected].

§ 12

Contact and complaints

If you have questions about this privacy policy, concerns about your data, or wish to exercise your privacy rights, please contact us at [email protected]. We will respond to all inquiries within fourteen calendar days. If you are a resident of the European Union or have concerns about GDPR compliance, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. We welcome privacy feedback and treat all inquiries with priority. You can also reach us through the Amplo app's Settings menu under 'Privacy & Support.' Amplo's privacy team reviews all requests personally.
